16 magazine article:
"I remember when Tiffany tried out. She was only 13 at the time, cute as a button and a
very accomplished singer. Her manager submitted a tape of hers and we called her for a
live audition. When I saw her, I gave her a high rating and she made it onto the show.
In those days we didn't have a teen category so she went up against adult singers.
She lost, however, after only one show to another teenage girl. For some reason, the
judges on that show liked the other girl better -- the folks at MCA Records who saw her and
signed her up didn't seem to hold the loss against her!"
