on march 5th, 2001, the wonderful cal organization called superb organized a FREE tiffany concert. this is tiffany as in "i think we're alone now" tiffany. i had to be there. i even skipped class and parked illegally (didn't even get a ticket)!! i scooched my way to the front corner and bopped along with everyone else. she was really friendly, shaking people's hands as they reached out (i was one of those). she even hugged some people, much to their delight. mostly she performed songs from her new album, color of silence, but of course she performed "i think we're alone now" and "could've been". the version of "i think we're alone now" was a really fast, almost punk-rock-y version, and it had the entire audience jumping up and down. she encouraged us to sing along, which, of course, we did. it was awesome. after the concert it was announced that she would be signing autographs and that she would sign until everyone who wanted one got one. of course a huge mass formed around the autographing table, and unfortunately no attempt was made reorganize it into a line. after a frustrating but well worth it wait, i got to the front. i had tiffany sign a postcard (as i hadn't thought to bring a record or something cool like hat). one of my friends who works for superb was standing behind the table and offered to take a picture of me with tiffany. i was grateful :) tiffany was super-friendly, with a smile for everyone, and not a bit of that "i'm better than you" celebrity crap. i was impressed.
