CHAPTER 10: USA Ain't the Same
Tiff had managed to avoid talking about emancipation issue as long as she could. Now it was time to promote the new album in the US and everyone wanted to hear her side of the story.
Tiffany gave a slurry of interviews, and the headlines always seemed to read: "Woe is Tiffany," "Tiffany's Troubles," "Tiffany's Tiff with her Mom," etc.
"Hold an Old Friends Hand" was quickly double-platinum in the US on the merits of the first single, "All This Time."
By the time "Radio Romance" was released in February, radio was beginning a phase of backlash against teen stars. The song peaked at #35.
