The Tiffany Vault
CHAPTER 15: Big in Asia
Tiffany's fourth album, "Dreams Never Die," was released Fall 1993 in the Pacific Rim (Asia) only. Seeing greatest potential in that area, MCA Records and Tiffany's management, focused intense promotion there and saw phenomenal results. Tiffany packed up her family for a six-week promotional trip through Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Malaysia. Later, the album was released in Australia, Japan, Korea, and Thailand.
The album's first single, "If Love is Blind," was a #1 hit across Asia, that propelled phenominal album sales for Dreams Never Die.
A follow-up single, "Can't You See," was released towards the end of 1993/early 1994.
In 1994, Tiffany launched an international tour starting in the Middle East: Bahrain, Duban, Lebanon, etc., and then performed throughout Asia: Jakarta, Manila, Malaysia, Singapore, Bangkok, Taipei, etc. Tiff planned to release the album in the US in Spring 1994, after adding some edgier tracks.
"Dreams Never Die" was made up of a lot of remakes. Otis Redding's "These Arms of Mine," Exile's "Kiss You All Over," Jennifer Holliday's "Dreams Never Die."
While touring Asia promoting the album, Tiffany and her manager/producer once again parted ways. Promotion of Dreams Never Die stopped dead in its tracks, and for a while, Tiffany disappeared.
