The Tiffany Vault
CHAPTER 16: Minimum Wage
Tiffany kept a low profile between 1995-1999. A handful of songs were released during this period: "Close Our Eyes" a duet with Tommy Page and country-twinged ballad "Winding Road" both from an Asia-only greatest hits release "All The Best" in 1995; "You Don't Belong Down Here" on a homeless benefit cd in 1996; "Hold Me" on an album by duet partner Rick Rhoades in 1996; "Was it Good For You" from the soundtrack of Indie film "The Thin Pink Line" in 1998; and "Free Free World" to promote Acuvue color contacts in Japan in 1999.
Sometime around 1996, Tiffany moved with her family to Nashville to hone her songwriting skills. She found a new manager (Pamela Lewis aka PLA Media) and recorded some demos of her songs which she hoped to sell to established country acts. Somehow Tiffany ended up with a record contract to release a country album, but the label ("Rising Tide Records") went under before the album could be released. The songs are now owned by RCA Records and to date have not been released.
At some point Tiffany got a job at Pier One Imports and spent six months working there before moving back to Los Angeles in 1997.
Once back in LA, Tiffany re-connected with Brad Schmidt, George Tobin's former business partner, and his team at a recording studio called "Backroom." Tiffany recorded pop/rock demos there with producer/songwriters Tim Feehan and Joe Brooks. The initial intent was to sell their songs to other artists, but soon Tiffany realized they had a good album's worth of material that she did NOT want to sell to someone else.
